Norwegian heritage – handmade in Thailand
Norway is known for its beautiful nature and a scattered settlement where traditions are preserved. A national costume – the bunad -plays an important role in expressing identity and place of origin. The numerous attires – from various regions - are perhaps the most expensive outfit we have. Thus, the quality of the fabrics as well as the needlework are uncompromisingly safe-guarded by Edda Bunader.
Bunad from Thailand – history – the choice
Today, hardly any bunads are produced in Norway. Edda Bunader makes tailormade bunads only. Other retail chains have target stitching in Estonia, another manufacturing in Shanghai. Our craftswomen come from the Hmong and Karen minorities where needlework is learned through traditions from childhood. The embroidery stands up to any comparison and has an unbeatable quality. The base fabrics are Norwegian. With these realities, Thailand was chosen and currently with more than 20 years of bunad-history
